FIN Zentangle Challenge Entry

The Challenge by Diane and myself

Each week Diane & Carolien’s Weekly Zentangle Challenge puts out a challenge for folks to make their own representation of Diane & Carolien’s idea. This week is Challenge #26, the Alphabet challenge of F-I-N. Use tangles starting with the letters F, I & N in your drawing. It’s your choice to only use patterns with these letters or to add some others as well. Happy Tangling!! We look forward to seeing what you come up with for your F, I & N. Next week are moving to R-K-I if you want to think ahead of time.

My FIN Zentangle challenge Entry in Color

I felt the need for mandalas. Been feeling a little stuck with the ‘normal’ drawings I’ve been doing. So the next few weeks Mandalas! Yay! At the moment I love the peace it brings drawing the circles, dividing the lines and so on.

FIN Zentangle used tangles:

Nexxus – In the heart of the mandala you see Nexxus. Looking back I should have made it so it feels more ‘straight’ when you look at it. But I think it gives a lovely center of the mandala. I choose this one as it works easily with the division.

Flameta – For the flower petals I choose Flameta, I love how it moves and curves the shape. Also love it as a repeating pattern next to each other.

Inwave – The outer decorative border is made with Inwave. Simple but effective. I really like it in this mandala, sets of the rest I think.

Ninna4 – After the other patterns I felt like the mandala was not finished yet. I choose for another border with Ninna4. Then added extra shading to make it look  more 3d 🙂
