KAT Zentangle Challenge

Abundies mixed things up
When Diane showed the steps for Abundies I knew that had to be the tangle to try for A. What a beautiful elegant piece with lots of potential to make it ‘yours’. I choose not to mess with it and follow the steps. But for a future drawing I would like to try some variations. My string went out the window initially as Abundies didn’t really fit in anywhere. So I placed them a little random. When I added Kyoto (another favorite) I decided to place most of those where my string lines crossed. Love those cute little flowers. I wasn’t sure what to do for the T in the KAT Zentangle Challenge, it became Twirl. When I started drawing Twirl I kinda didn’t realize how much empty space there would be when drawing it this big (again followed my string lines). Added a little bit of extra ‘fluff’ to it. Then left it overnight to see how I felt about the background in the morning. It had grown on me and now I kinda really like it.
This drawing for the KAT Zentangle Challenge was done on beforehand as my parents are here this week. Usually I do some drawing with my mom, but didn’t want to feel like we were in a rush to get it done. So we’ll be working on next weeks Challenge P I J.
As usual I had to add some color. This became the underwater version. I should have added some extra bubbles 🙂

Thanks for stopping by! Looking forward to seeing your KAT Zentangle Challenge entry!
